Good News! (CD Released)
This is the news I thought I was going to say sometime last year, but apparently these things take a while. Well anyway, here it is: I finally have an actual CD you can buy! Find it at the store if you like, or if you want to buy it some other way, just email me at mail@bensimaginaryband.com and we’ll work something out.
If you were wondering about where the proceeds from sales go, it will be used to fund living expenses/new equipment while I make more music.
Oh, in case you noticed, the fancy new layout courtesy of my father. Aka Planetgrafix.
Thanks everyone.

CD Sales & Jamendo
I wanted to let people know how things have gone so far, as far as my record selling goes. Well, I’ve sold about as many as I’d expected, it makes me happy to know that there are even a few people out there who like it and want to listen to it enough to support me. So I appeciate that. Speaking of which, something that’s been very uplifting of late is that there have been a number of people looking at my work on a site called Jamendo and I’ve been getting very kind words from them, so I’d like to say thanks for that also. Jamendo works with the creative commons license by the way.
Now, I understand that since I’m actually giving my music away for free, the motivation to buy it slightly diminishes, so that makes sense. But, if you would like to help me, there is something I would find very helpful; that is, if you were to tell your friends about my music, or, if someone’s into being creative and making videos, then if they made a music video I’d be very grateful for that. I mean, I’ve had some ideas myself, but unless I have a team of cartoonists, or one very dedicated one, I doubt I could pull it off.

What I Spend My Time With pt. 2
While website design is certinly a nice job, I don’t fully get the creative outlet I require from working on commericial sites, like this potato chip website I’ve spent the last month on. (I’m not going to bother posting a link, its not ready anyways. *sigh*) It does help though, to have a programming background when working with music, I think. As part of what I do is in Music Recording software and it’s kind of in the same mindset.
And after I’m done work for the day, I either write new songs, or I try on solve some musical problems I have, usually ’till I fall asleep.

What I Spend My Time With.
According to some sources, this blog is supposed to be about personal stuff about me, not just my music, so I’ve decided to tell you a little more about myself.
My trade is web design. I spend quite a lot of time with that, working for my father’s company. I’m always changing and redoing anything creative I work on.. perhaps that’s why I’ve redesigned this site almost as many times as there are posts on it :S.
P.S. This current design, and current album artwork isn’t mine. Thanks dad.

Your Thoughts?
So recently someone had asked me if I was still in the process of writing new songs. And yes, I am. The only difference is that I’ve refrained from recording any of the new ones in an effort to try a different approach.
See, last time I pretty much recorded them just after I wrote them, sometimes even during; the end of the song wasn’t even written by the time I finished recording the beginning. And while I’m a strong believer in improv, I just wanted to see what happened if I let my songs age a little.
Ok, so I haven’t even mentioned what I’d like your opinion on yet. Here it is: I was wondering if the quality of the recordings on my first album was an issue for you, or if you felt that they captured the sound quite nicely. The reason I ask is because I’m trying to decide whether to continue with the solo artist/engineer, or if I should hand over the engineering bit to someone else. Well, thats it. Hope to hear from you.

Website Attempt 2.0
Thanks for coming by. If you happened to drop by earlier than March 18, you would’ve seen quite a different looking page (you can have look at it here.)

One that, while looking kind of pretty, was hardly considered user friendly. And, since the point of having a site is to show you my music, it seemed fairly imprudent to make it hard to use. So here I am, presenting you with site number 2. A site built on blogging technology, which means I can once again enter a trend stylishly late.
Ok, so I’ll try and put something new on here, say, every few weeks. I’ll be posting ideas, events, news, and sometimes even questions. And you if you feel like responding to any of it, your opinion is always appreciated. Or if you’d prefer to contact me directly, you can always do so at mail@bensimaginaryband.com.
